| Alex Safari, 57, was born in Shiraz, Iran and emigrated to Australia in 1982. Alex graduated with a PhD in quantitative genetics from University of New South Wales in 1987 and works as an agricultural scientist with the NSW Department of Primary Industries. Alex joined the Socialist Equality Party in 1998. He lives in Chifley and is married with two adult children.
